Jill Nganjniirra was born near Oenpelli (Gunbalanya) is situated just beyond Kakadu National Park in Arnhem Land.
There are few women painters from this community as weaving and reed work is the primary form that women work in so it is good to see some women branching out and working with other materials.
Jill's work depicts the Yawk Yawk sister spirits on bark which is a more traditional form .
Her work is flowing and intricate in detail and design.
