Australian Aboriginal Artist Marlene Marshall Marlene Marshall was born near Kintore and works out of the Watiyawanu Art Centre in Mount Liebig Western Desert. Women from this centre have travelled and exhibited in Japan and have also participated in the Telstra Awards in Darwin.which alone is a major recognition. Their work is gaining increasing recognition not only in Australia but internationally. Their distinctive detailed lace work of fine dotting depicts the Western Desert "Dreaming" sites. These artists are providing leadership and resources for their families and young people in their community. (011-79) 40 X 13 |
